Testimonials

“Chuck, I purchased your book last February and read it in three days. I have just recently read it again and wanted to thank you for saving me many headaches in the future.”
Thank you for sparing me the agony:
Denny M. Wiltse, Wiltse Insurance Agency, Standish, Mich.

“I just wanted to thank you for your book. I was waiting to read it on the flight to Hawaii Wednesday but started reading it last night and read a third of it before putting it down. I told my wife that your time in the 1980s was so much like mine it was like reading my diary. I thought I was the only one who came close to losing it all.”
Page turner that will keep you up at night:
Rick Price, Price Agency, Inc., Dickinson, N.D.

“I started reading it at four in the afternoon, and finished it at midnight...I wish I read it 30 years ago; it would have saved me literally millions of dollars.”
Wish I would have had this book 30 years ago:
Bruce E. Cook, Aloha Insurance Services, Inc., Kailua Kona, Ha.

“This should be riveting reading for anyone connected with the insurance business. This is a fascinating mix of humor and truth of one man’s struggle to succeed in a captivating and competitive business. This story is told in a no-holds-barred, pulled punches sort of way. He only blames himself for failures and learns from those experiences to become a premier agent in his field.”
A must-read for tenacious entrepreneurs:
Glenn Watson.

Tough times, tough budget

...Heavy-hearted, I scheduled an appointment with the "new" banker and went up to see him. I told him how I had gotten Western Agency, Inc., lean and mean: how our sales, income, and profitability were up; how we were writing more premium with fewer employees; and how we finally had the agency on a solid course for recovery. I showed him we had $90,000 in earned commissions coming in within a few months. Once more I offered to bring my CPA in to help explain my numbers if need be. With a face of granite he said, "But you still owe us the same amount of money you did six years ago."...
